To get started with Fantom you’ll need a web3 wallet that is compatible with the Fantom Opera network we suggest Metamask which is the easiest to set.

MetaMask is a web browser extension that facilitates access to Ethereum compatible wallets and Ethereum-compatible blockchains.

To use it as an Opera FTM address, you first need to configure MetaMask to access the Fantom blockchain.

1 Set-up with chainlist.org

Chainlist is a list of EVM networks. Users can use the information to connect their wallets and Web3 middleware providers to the appropriate Chain ID and Network ID to connect to the correct chain.

Just log in to the chainlist website, connect the wallet, select FANTOM OPERA network and confirm the required approvals from the wallet. Done√

2 Manual settings

Step 1: Log in to MetaMask as usual

Step 2: Select Networks > Custom RPC, as in the following image:

Step 3: Fill in the fields as follows:

Step 4: After you click save, check to ensure that Fantom Opera is listed as an accessible network.

Now, you can send FTM to any address on MetaMask, using the same account address for both Ethereum and Fantom.

Funds your wallet with gas

Purchase on Exchange (CEX) that support Fantom network withdrawals and then send them to Metamask or wallet that supports Fantom network.

Purchase on DEX (Pancakeswap, Uniswap) and use the Bridge to move them to the Fantom network.

(Bridge costs depend on the network you are operating on initially).

Bridge

You can bridge tokens from Ethereum, BSC, Arbitrum, Polygon or Avalanche to Fantom on the SpookySwap bridge.
